SOCIAL JUSTICE

MAP’s core values of Access, Excellence, Racial Equity and Inclusivity ensure free access to communities that even prior to the pandemic were underserved populations who have little to no ability to receive arts or music education. We effect positive social change through our programs which enhance students’ growth as a whole person by developing confidence and creative expression through music, imagination, language, reasoning and intellectual curiosity.

In 2018, we updated our vision and action plans to bring systemic/structural racism, violence, cultural/social justice, intergenerational learning, and the digital divide into the forefront of our programs.
